Committee Reports

Finance Committee Report
The Finance Committee recommends each church continue their support of the Association by sending a donation either to the Association’s treasurer, or by including a donation with your letter to the Association’s clerk. We also recommend allowing the Georgia Baptist Association Tax Department to come out and give a presentation about the tax laws for churches. We the Finance Committee recommends the Association have someone review all accounts monthly and quarterly for the protection of the treasure and the Association. Also, to segregate the accounts for better record keeping and to have the clerk reconcile all bank accounts.

GBC Executive Committee Report
The Representative to the Georgia Baptist Convention Executive Committee suggests that the churches of the Association to contribute to the cooperative fund causes and carry the messages to your church. He also recommends that we become more aware of the Baptist colleges in Georgia. He asked that we pray and help however you feel led. Giving would make a huge difference. It was also suggested that churches send delegates to the Georgia Baptist Convention meeting at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock.

Youth Committee Report
The youth committee recommended that we need to better equip youth with the fundamental beliefs of their faith by helping to establish an in depth knowledge of and reason for faith that is inside of them. We would like to equip today’s youth with the ability to discuss, explain, share, and defend their faith, and to lead youth into a lifelong journey of serving Christ through serving others. We also recommend that each church within the Hightower Association become part of a network of believers that could be easily informed about opportunities for mission work, evangelism, and education. We would like to produce this but we need your help. By doing this we would strengthen each church involved and provide endless benefit to all. Coming together in service to the Lord is a wonderful and powerful opportunity.

Discipleship Committee Report
The Discipleship Training Committee encourages all churches to build and promote Sunday School, Brotherhoods, WMUs, youth groups, and senior adults ministries. These are all available methods of outreach and teaching present new converts with a Kings James Version Bible and have study sessions to strengthen these new Christians. Encourage every individual to take time daily to prayerfully read and study God’s word. Prayerfully select the leaders and teachers for these recommended groups.
Embrace discipleship as a lifelong commitment of learning the way of Jesus.

The Benevolence and Disaster Relief Report
The Benevolence and Disaster Relief Committee stated that they need a minimum of 28 preachers each month to help at the food bank because they are needed to minister to every family that comes in for assistance.  All preachers have a standing open invitation for each 2nd Saturday of every month.

Senior Adult Committee Report
The Senior Adult Ministries encourage us to remember that the Senior Adult are just as big a part of our church as they have ever been and will always be. We encourage all to not forgot them and the part they play in service to the Lord. Our prayer is that every church in the Hightower Baptist Association will encourage all to include the elders in their services and activities.
